dog years: Tennesse Williams vs. Truman Capote
Nate and I had our first date last night. I touched his knee and laughed.
We talked about neon signs and Pennsylvania mountain people and seven stars and conspiracy theories and Breece D'J' Pancake and Tobias Wolff and how when I write, sometimes I feel like I'm going to crash through the floor.
We talked about Trumon Capote and Tennesse Williams.

When my mom was nine, her family drove from Hamlet, NC to Denver, Colorado. One night, they pulled onto the side of the road to sleep. The next morning they were startled by police cruisers filing down a Kansas road like Winston Cup cars. They were on the way to a lonely farmhouse. Capote wrote about the family that lived there in his book, In Cold Blood.

Oh, and my grandmother told me that my grandfather sold an apple to John Dillinger.

Small world.
