honky cracker: Still Crazy After All these Years
It's funny how an innocent lunch time of random web-surfing can inadvertently lead you back to parts of your past which you've nearly forgotten.
Bumming around the web this afternoon, I ran across this girl I had dated briefly my senior year of college. We met when I was doing this off-off Broadway funk musical based on Charlie and the Chocolate factory. It was load in day - a long, long day of tech. I was onstage for just about the entire performance, so there was a lot for me to do. I couldn't really leave the theater.
And she was a freshman fulfilling her tech theater requirements by working on the piece. I was exhausted, grumpy, and a little under the weather. She kept checking on me, making sure I was OK, wondering if I needed her to go get me a coffee. She was sweet. And damn cute. Damn cute. We went out for sake after the tech, and the rest, as they say, was history.
It didn't last long. Actually, towards the end she really treated me like crap. But I liked the kid. Looks like she's doing quite well for herself as a comedienne down there in New York City. I always thought she was wildly talented and wickedly funny. Good for her. It's a shame when people with talent like she has let it go to waste. I'm happy she's making the most of it, and sharing herself with the rest of the world.
Good for her
