Tropical Depression: I heart my job.
Really and truly. And I want to tell you what I do and I hope you don't mind.

I care for and breed critically endangered and candidate (almost endangered, if we could only get the funding for the paperwork) species of Hawaiian tree snails, some of which exist only in the lab (as far as we know, and we know a lot, though not everything).
This week we found 2 individuals of the 'extinct' Achatinella bulimoides. This is really exciting. They haven't been seen in a LONG time.
It's not the ivory-billed woodpecker.
But incredible, actually.
I am beside myself with joy.
(cue "Overcome By Happiness")
Do you want to see them?
