Tropical Depression: Tropical Summer
I've been walking around a lot lately; choosing walking over biking as my summer local transportation. It keeps me out of the quiet house for longer but so far it isn't the cure for depression I was hoping for. I enjoy spending time outside though.
Anyway, I've been seeing things I wouldn't get a chance to on my bike (lots of shirtless joggers, though I would GLADLY do without them. I've had enough of the man boobs.).

Many of the tropical trees are in bloom and they are a visual and olfactory feast.

The Malvaceae family trees are blooming..they're very cool looking.

This one, in the pea family, is right by the library.

This one is glorious.

And this is not a tree to nap under.

The jasmines and gardenias are all in bloom (some early Magnolias, too) and mixed with the smell of ripe mangos, the air is thick, juicy and sweet.
Summer has reached the tropics.
