Nutshell Kingdom: Last Day Restless Blues
2005

It is the zero hour for my temp job. My last day. No fun (however, there were donuts). The little work I have had to do today has been far more frustrating than it really is. I have spent hours trying to look up people I knew from law school and have been sincerely frustrated in most of my attempts. Why am I looking them up? Because I'm that ready to leave this building. I am that ready to touch the outside world. Because I check my inbox once every two minutes or so and the same old messages keep staring at me.

The computer I am "working" on seems to be slowing down in subtle increments every half-hour or so. Occasionally, I am swearing out loud. I have pronounced "I'm done!" at least twenty times today. I have less than four hours to go.
