Nutshell Kingdom: Uhhh, the Title
2006

Last night's television contained the spectacle of Bill O'Reilly interviewing Bob Woodward about State of Denial, Woodward's new book. There were a couple of highlights that I thought were pretty funny.

1) O'REILLY: I want to start at the beginning. What is the headline of your book? If you were a headline writer, what is the headline?

WOODWARD: Uhhh, the title, State of Denial

2)O'REILLY: Do you think that is a fair assessment (of President Bush, as depicrted in State of Denial): impatient, sophomoric, intellectually incurious, isn't going to change his mind no matter what? Is that fair?

WOODWARD: Well, I wouldn't use some of those adjectives like sophomoric.

3)O'REILLY: I don't think that the Bush administration can, at this juncture, tell the world this is a debacle.

WOODWARD: The truth.

O'REILLY: OK? Look, the truth is not defined. It is not defined.

All in all, a laugh riot. Funny enough, Charlie Rose's interview with Woodward was on at the same time and it was amuch different conversation.
