Nutshell Kingdom: Settling For Finches
2008

In the park near her apartment
Between a rock and a hard place
Is a tree that fills itself with birds
In the citrus early morning.

She does not think
Of the person who will never be right for her
And doesn't she just know it.
She does not think
Of the person who is perfect for her
And shouldn't she just know it.

She will have both
Or she will settle for finches.
