Nutshell Kingdom: Knowing Yourself
2008

On the first day of winter
I feel like a man locked in a car overnight.
The air feels that good to breathe.
It's no trick to feel good.

Knowing yourself is a good trick.
Its like looking at the river
and following the underwater flight of a winter duck,
predicting within a square foot where it'll pop up.

Like I said, a neat trick.

The third day of winter is no good.
You may have known yourself once,
but now, now the river is ice.
There are no ducks
or they're underwater for good.
