sunshine jen: You Gotta Have Sole
At the beginning of last week, during my morning four mile walk, I noticed the bottoms of my shoes were sliding a little more than usual. I figured that the bottoms had worn down just a bit.

When I got home, I checked the bottoms and saw that the soles had worn down past the rubber all the way to the foamy bit.

Darn, I thought. It's important to have soles on your shoes---although I wouldn't recommend diamonds like Paul Simon did.

I looked at my worn down shoes, a pair of New Balance trail runners, super tough and super comfortable. I've had them for eighteen months. They were my backup shoes on the Camino, so I carried them 500 miles and walked in them in the evenings in tiny towns in Spain. I walked all over LA in them. I probably have walked over a thousand miles in them. And now. . .they were done.

So I went to Big Five and got myself another pair of walking shoes. I found a pair that fit, weren't white, and were on sale. I walked around the store and jumped up and down in them. They weren't as comfortable as the old pair, but they will do. They will help me lose them walkin blues. They have sole.
