elanamatic: shopaholic in crisis
help! I am starting to only want to shop for "activewear."

I was killing time at Sporting Life downtown last night and instead of checking out any of their totally overpriced hipster streetwear, I was searching their measely collection of dry-fit and yogawear. This is so unlike me.

A recovering retail whore - Roots, Jacob and of course the headhanginginshame Gap girl (I swear I applied to every book/music store but to no avail) - my record shows that I am firmly committed to grotesque bouts of conspicuous fashion consumption, no matter what the consequences. Having arrived home empty-handed on a number of occasions over the last month, I fear I might be entering a new era.

Is this what it's like to be middle-aged?

On second thought, I still peruse the shops and I have bought some incredibly stylish workout items... I just haven't been sold on anything else in awhile. Well, other then the usual luxe items that extend well beyong my price range. Perhaps, I am just waiting for stuff to go on sale? Yes, that must be it. After all I still covet sexy new boots and a charming wool coat. Soon enough, they will be mine.

Clearly, responsible wardrobe shopping just ain't my style.
