elanamatic: Who's The Boss
No this is not a dedication to Tony Danza.

I was solo parenting in Montreal last week so Mia and I had a lot of quality time together. I don't know if it was all the one-on-one adult interaction or just her age, but her communication abilities seemed to leapfrog before my eyes. We are started having actual conversations. This one was a gem:

I am catching up on work via blackberry while Mia wolfed down some mac n cheese.

Mia: "What's mommy doing?"
Me: "Mommy is emailing her boss."
Mia: "I'm the boss!" followed by tremendous laughter.

I immediately cracked up too.

How did she come up with that one? Is it because I am always calling her bossy? Clearly she is on to something. Now, whenever I jokingly ask her who the boss is, she says "Mia is the boss!"

So true.
