Lisa Says: hearts a-flutter
craig and i went and heard baby tee's heartbeat on monday. the doc had this thing like an old tape recorder from grade school - it had a handle and a microphone attached by a springy cord. it reminded of the one the kid in "almost famous" used for interviews. anyway, she lubes up my gut and moves the microphone around (presumbly to get all the cheese and strawberries and champagne from nate's wedding out of the way. yes, i had a glass of champagne. who are you, my mother?) and then there was a heartbeat. i said it sounded like bat wings which i don't think was the beautiful and serene thing the doctor was looking for. i'd advise saying it sounded like hummingbird wings. or, if you want to get all jesusy on yourself, angel wings. so there you go. a little heartbeat. although, craig and i are still skeptical. i think it may have been a recording they use for everyone because the real heartbeat probably sounds like muffled jazz and it freaks people out.

five weeks until we find out what this little hummingbird is!
