Nutshell Kingdom: Fresh Ears
2008

make believe your own death.
you wouldn't be the first.

pick your own method -
there are thousands.
i fall from a rooftop
untold stories
and land on my bed
leaving a deep impression.

inhale for the last time

and at the next instant
exhale for the first time
in your new body
as you have been changed

as you have been saved
from doom by some miracle
of energy which never dies
but just transfers from place
place, thing to thing.

so now go
and put on some music.
hear it with fresh ears

imagine hearing bob marley with fresh ears!

and then sit under a tree
or as finances allow
go to the movies
and in the dark allow
that this is all wonderful.

do this.
you will want to die everyday.
you wouldn't be the first.
