Pony: My history as a visual artist

The age of four was probably the last time this artist stood formally in front of an easel. Clearly, this is a commentary on insufficient housing for lower-income torso-less people with raisin eyes.


Through her childhood on the West Coast, Pony was a young Emily Carr, with a sailboat as her Totem, the emblematic pacific ocean pemeating her third grade mind.

In the year 2003, Pony has merged her early influences into one composition. Like Guernica that preceded it, this canvas evokes the cartoonishness of existence and the hyperbole of language that is extruded with bubble-font. The indifferent sun shines mercilessly above.
