Pony: dream last night
3.17.2004

I was reading Dooce's account of her labour yesterday before bed. It brought on the strangest dream, in which I was in labour, but had been given an epidural. I could feel nothing, but I knew I needed to push or the baby would suffocate. I was in the front seat of a car and decided to push. Out came the baby. It twisted out and came out fully dressed, like a puppet. It was not breathing, so I smacked it on the bum. Then I breathed air into its nose/mouth. It began to breathe, then it opened its eyes and said "meow".
It was a boy.
