Pony: I am woman, hear me roar, though you've heard this song before
5.18.2004

These days, I wish I had been around for the 70's wave of feminism. I always had a hunch that I would have hated the 60's with its disaffected rich kids and broad-banner causes.

But there is something about the specific, quantitative progress of the feminist movement I could have really gotten behind. Love them, hate them, they got us thinking about shit we had never contemplated, and they got laws passed that drasticall improved our lives.

Yeah, all the shrill rhetoric and backlash paglia-types would have gotten me down, but I would have been so proud to have been part of it.

Is there a cause you are proud to be part of?
