Pony: Muscle memory
11.23.2004

Second last swim class and I still swim like a tard. Between the kicking, the bent-arm stroke, the synchronized breathing - I lose track and inevitably breathe in a bit of water. But it is coming along.

It is really hard to build muscle memory at this age. But not impossible. Patterns and habits of movement can seem so ingrained.

Which inevitably leadly me to think about patterns of thought. Because, like swimming or any physical movement, it takes a jolt to make you realise how set you are in a certain pattern of judgements and perceptions. And conscious effort to shake it up.

I know I say this every year. But this winter I really want to rebuild the muscle memory.
