Pony: At the end of the party
10.30.2006

I went to a Hallowe'en party on Saturday night. One of the hosts has a couple of young kids she had shipped off to her in-laws for the weekend.

Ever notice how parents of young kids drink like they just got out of prison?

"Well," she slurred sweetly as I was leaving, "I won't see you next year's party, but I will see you the year after."

"But...I will totally come next year." Thinking babysitters and stuff.

She gave me such a pitying look and touched my shoulder: "O.K...of course you will," she lied.
