Pony: Now THAT's Rain!
6.16.2008

We have had some truly excellent thunder showers this month, best viewed from the shelter of our covered front porch. Yesterday G. stuck his hands out beyond the roof to feel the downpour on his hands and declared: "Rain!" and pulled at my hand to walk down the stairs.

You forget that your kid can know something but not really know it. Like a horse. He knows it says neigh. He can point to it in a picture and he plays with his plastic farm, but when you show him the real, massive beast at the local zoo, he is at a loss. That's a horse?

So I kicked off my shoes. Grabbed his hand. And we jumped around a bit, getting soaked, shouting "Rain!".
