Pony: A little balance
1.5.2009

Although I am extremely critical of Israel's actions in Gaza, there are a lot of factors that keep me away from protests here. I guess I am wary of oversimplification of the issues. Of villain and victim portrayals. Protesting against Israeli policy as a Jew is complicated in the West.

In Israel, however, where you can say "I love Israel, I deplore these actions" - here I would have marched. There were housands of anti-war demonstrators in Israel. Not sure that this kind of thing gets media coverage. But it should, I think. Video taken by my sis, Lisa, who seems to be facebooking and twittering the war rather than blogging it, but there ya go. Technology evolves, conflict remains the same.
